The Concertina Network, organized by Klaus Wenger, meets twice a year and will gather in Chemnitz in May during the Saxon Mozart Festival 2025. The group will come together at the birthplace of the concertina, following the footsteps of Carl Friedrich Uhlig, to play music and give two small concerts. During these events, the musicians will also present their various instruments. A special highlight of the meeting and the concert on May 24 at 4:00 PM is the fact that Carl Friedrich Uhlig’s workshop, where he built the first concertina, was located right next to the Karl Marx Monument. Tour guide Edeltraud Höfer will provide a tour discussing the historical sites and the creation of the concertina.
The two concerts will take place on:
May 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Karl Marx Monument and on
May 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Jakobikirche in Chemnitz.
